Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge is encouraging Arkansans to clean out their medicine cabinets and bring any unused or expired medications to one of the state's more than 250 Prescription Drug Take Back Day drop-off locations from ten a.m. to two p.m. on Saturday, April 24th. Event sites are held at various locations across the state, but; a list of other collection sites can be found online at A-R-Take-Back-dot-org..

Volunteer group Friends of Nebo will be hosting a work day on Saturday, April 24 at Mount Nebo State Park from 9 a.m. until noon. Volunteers are invited to help with this work day on Mount Nebo State Park's trails. Meet at the small pavilion to register and pick up supplies for the morning of the work day. Volunteers will need to bring herbicide sprayers, hand tools, (rakes, shovels, Mcleod tool and limb cutters). Dress for the weather.  For more information call the Visitor Center at (479) 229-3655...
Get ready for an upcoming benefit car show, raising funds for the Ernie Gray family.  The Tri-County Cruisers invite you to participate in this effort, set for Saturday; April 24th on the Dover square.  Hot Rods, Rat Rods, special interest cars, antique cars all are invited to be a part of the effort that Saturday from 9-till-2 p/m.  Vehicle entry fee is 20-dollars and registration will get underway at 8;30 a/m that morning.  Trophies for a variety of classes, prizes and ways to win BIG will be a part of the fun, with all proceeds to go to Ernie Gray for help with unexpected medical expenses.

Friday, April 23rd... That's the date for the 25th annual Clarksville Junior Auxiliary  "Curbside Chili and Chocolate Cake Supper.  Tickets are 5-dollars each, and this year's drive-through event will be held from 5-to-7 p/m at the Clarksville Middle School cafeteria.

The Pope County Election Commission will be meeting on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 10:00 am to conduct a Logic and Accuracy Test on voting equipment to be used during the 2021 Annual School Board Election.  Public Testing will then follow at  11:00 am.  Both events will take place at Pope County Election Headquarters located at 1509 East Main, Suite 7, Russellville, Arkansas.

Pope County Master Gardners will be holding their annual plant sale on May 1st at the County Fairgrounds.  Due to Covid concerns the sale will be conducted as a drive-thru event for 2021.  Vegetables and herbs, annual and perennial flowers, trees, shrubs and houseplants will be available.

Entries are now being taken for a May 1st charity volleyball tournament to benefit Johnson County Helping Hands.  The event will be held at the Marvin Vinson Center in Clarksville and pre-registration is now underway.  Six players, any combination of males and females will make up the teams.  Entry fee will be 30-dollars with a 300-hundred dolalr winner take all prize.  Get further details at Johnson County Helping Hands on Facebook.

May annual serves as Police Memorial Month, and the Dardanelle Police Department is finalizing plans for their Thursday, May 13th observance.  That event will get underway at 10 a/m that day, at the Gazebo on Front Street.  Dardanelle Police Chief Wilson Short urges area residents to join the city at Gazebo to honor those who served, and lost their life in the line of duty.
