September 11 marks the 20th anniversary of the destruction of the twin towers and over 3000 lives in New York City, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania. The Russellville community is invited to plan a service(s) on that day. A Just Serve organization called 911day.org calls it a Universal Day of Service. It doesn't matter what it is--food pantry, individual gifts such as blankets, cleanup in an area--just whatever you would be comfortable doing. Because of Covid, people might prefer to work at home and donate finished items. Again, it doesn't matter.

Just Serve is an excellent place to start. As mentioned above, a new organization, 911day.org,  has just been added whose message is to encourage everyone to offer service on that day. But 911day isn't the only organization that is available, please peruse the organizations listed, and participate in this Universal Day of Service on September 11
