Pope County Judge Ben Cross has announced the date for a ceremony to designate a portion of State Highway 7 as the "Sheriff Jay B Winters Memorial Highway". Help send the Russellville High School Symphonic Band to perform at Carnegie Hall. A "Desserts for NYC" event is coming up Saturday, October 16th at 7 p/m in the lobby of Russellville's "Center of the Arts". An evening of desserts and fun will include a silent auction, live auction of desserts, as well as Event T-shirt and ornament sales. Tickets are 10-dollars each of 15-per couple. Russellville District Parent-Teacher conferences are set for October 25th and 26th. Pre-K through 5th grade conference will be held Monday, October 25th and 6th through 12-grades are set for Tuesday, October 26th. Conference hours will be from 2-till 8 p/m both days. Buildings will release students for early dismissal at 1 p/m both days, according to administrators.

The Arkansas River Valley Arts Center's "Chili Bowl and Silent Auction" event has been rescheduled for November 13th. The upcoming event will include a chili dinner donated by Brangus; with a large variety of toppings, adult beverage dessert and a hand-crafted pottery bowl. The L.V. Williamson Boys and Girls Club of Russellville will play host in early November to the annual "Mistletoe Market, fund raiser for the club. Set for November 4th and 6th, the effort; in its 14th year, involves a variety of vendors from throughout the valley and across the state. Christmas gift and decorating ideas will fill the center for the run of the event.
