Holiday Glow is returning to downtown Russellville... A Friday, December 10th event is planned that evening 6-to-8 p/m. Carriage rides, entertainment, the Holiday Art Walk and the Chamber of Commerce "Battle of the Bulbs" competition at the Depot Park Christmas Tree. Santa will be on hand and a Holiday Fireworks Finale at 8 p/m is planned.

Arkansas Tech's Office of Veterans Services is holding a "Giving back to Veterans" drive, collecting items to be sent in care packages to servicemen and women deployed overseas. Preparations continue for the upcoming TROUT DAY 2021 event, to be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. till noon at Russellville's Pleasant View Park. The CADDIS Fly Fishing Club, Russellville Recreation and Parks Department and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) partner each year to bring seasonal trout fishing to Russellville. Chamber of Commerce executive director Stacy Daughtry reminds a 6:30 p/m start time is planned, with this year's parade route... Merritt park on Highway 22, then along Union Street and proceeding down Front Street. 1ST, 2ND and 3RD place trophies will be awarded in both commercial and non-profit categories. Lamar Volunteer Fire Department has kicked off a "Toys for Tots" effort in Johnson County. The need is real and your help is needed, especially this holiday season. Department personnel ask you to get involved by dropping off your unwrapped new toys for any age boy and/or girl at Lamar City Hall. Toy collection will continue until WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2021.

Cub Scout Pack 182 in Russellville wants to invite the River Valley to a chili dinner event December 4th from 10am to 2pm at the city mall parking lot in front of Planet Fitness. Tickets are just $5 dollars and all the proceeds go to help Scouts here in the River Valley.
