Holiday Glow is returning to downtown Russellville... A Friday, December 10th event is planned that evening 6-to-8 p/m.  Carriage rides, entertainment, the Holiday Art Walk and the Chamber of Commerce "Battle of the Bulbs" competition at the Depot Park Christmas Tree.  Santa will be on hand and a Holiday Fireworks Finale at 8 p/m is planned.

Get ready for Christmas at Cline Park in Clarksville on Satruday, December 4th.  Events get underway at 5 p/m that afternoon, with the annual Clarksville Christmas Parade, downtown.  This year's theme is "Christmas Around the World".  Santa will be on hand at the Cline Park Gazebo, and carriage rides are planned.  Get further details at clarksvillear.gov/christmas

Dover's Angel Tree is now accepting applications for any family that need help purchasing children's Christmas gifts and live in the Dover School District.  Children must be age 2 to 18 and applications will be accepted on line at the Victory Worship Center website.  Get further information at vwc.gregproctor.net.

The Atkins Christmas Parade is scheduled for Monday, December 6th at 6 p/m.  "Frosty fest" is the theme for this year's event.  There's no entry fee for this year's effort...

Arkansas Tech's Office of Veterans Services is holding a "Giving back to Veterans" drive,  collecting items to be sent in care packages to servicemen and women deployed overseas.  Granola bars, powder drink mix, sunfloiwer seeds, candy, gum and beef jerky is being sought.  A Tuesday, November 30th collection deadline has been set.  Drop off donations at the Tech Student Union or in the Doc Bryan Rotunda...

Preparations continue for the upcoming TROUT DAY 2021 event, to be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. till noon at Russellville's Pleasant View Park. The CADDIS Fly Fishing Club, Russellville Recreation and Parks Department and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) partner each year to bring seasonal trout fishing to Russellville. Get further details at the Russellville Recreation and Parks Facebook page.

Belleville will have a "Christmas at the Park" event on Saturday, December 4th, hosted by the Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce.  Hours for the event will be from 10 a/m to 2 p/m, with free hot cocoa, coffee and homemade cookies; while supplies last.  More than 30 vendors will be set up with a variety of gift ideas, clothing jewelry, candles, foods and more.  And, Santa will be on hand to visit from 12-noon till 1:30 p/m.

Entries continue to be taken for the upcoming December 3rd 2021 Dardanelle Christmas Parade.  Chamber of Commerce executive director Stacy Daughtry reminds a 6:30 p/m start time is planned, with this year's parade route... Merritt park on Highway 22, then along Union Street and proceeding down Front Street.  1ST, 2ND and 3RD place trophies will be awarded in both commercial and non-profit categories.  Entry details can be obtained on the Dardanelle Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.

Lamar Volunteer Fire Department has kicked off a  "Toys for Tots" effort in Johnson County. The need is real and your help is needed, especially this holiday season.  Department personnel ask you to get involved by dropping off your unwrapped new toys for any age boy and/or girl at Lamar City Hall. Toy collection will continue until WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2021.

Cub Scout Pack 182 in Russellville wants to invite the River Valley to a chili dinner event December 4th from 10am to 2pm at the city mall parking lot in front of Planet Fitness. Tickets are just $5 dollars and all the proceeds go to help Scouts here in the River Valley.
