Arvac, Incorporated will issue commodities at the Johnson County Fairgrounds on Tuesday, January 25th from 9-till-12 Noon for all eligible households. Applicants will need to bring documentation of total household income, number in household their Social Security card and proof of Johnson County residency. The Yell County Extension Office will be conducting training for farmers and ranchers to obtain or renew their Private Applicators License. Two training sessions will be held this year. The first will be held January 25th at the Dardanelle Library. Registration for the Dardanelle PAT will begin at 9:30 am. The second will be held February 3rd. at the USDA building in Danville. Registration for the Danville PAT will begin at 6:00pm. There is a twenty dollar fee for the training and the training will be limited to 15 participants at Dardanelle and 30 participants at Danville, so please call (479) 495-2216 to pre-register. You must be pre-registered by the day before the training is held.

River Valley Food 4 Kids reminds that anyone who is available to volunteer and help with the packing process for their Backpackj Program, is needed. Volunteers can sign up by going to the River Valley Food 4 Kids Facebook page for further details.
Pope County's Fair Association will have their annual meeting on Monday, January 24th at 6:30 p/m in the Farm Bureau Building. All interested participants and those involved with the fair each year are welcome to attend.

The Dover band program's "Cannonball Classic" disc golf doubles Tournament is set for Saturday, February 12th. Recreational and advanced divisions will compete in a two round/36 hole event to be played at Pleasant View and Old Post Parks. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in each tier.
