December's food box distribution at Russellville Disabled American Veterans headquarters will one week earlier as a result of the holidays.  Monday, December 16th is the date and hours will be 11 a/m till 1 p/m.  This will be a drive thru distribution effort, so recipients will stay in their vehicles.  DAV headquarters is at 206 S. Pittsburg.  Proof of veterans status required.

Pottsville school district will be one of several in the area accepting School Choice applications for the 2025-26 year, beginning January 1st.  Applications can be picked up at the superintendent's office or are available online at the district's webpage.  Those request will be accepted through May 1st.
