Pope County Sheriff Blake Wilson reminds "As the new school year begins, children across the county will be walking, biking, and riding to and from school. Their safety depends on all of us staying alert, and exercising extra caution in and around school zones.  Pope County Sheriff's deputies will be increasing patrols around school zones in the coming weeks to ensure compliance with speed limits and safety laws."

An Atkins Board of Education meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, August 12 at Atkins Public Schools has been rescheduled to Monday, August 11.

The 2025 Russellville Christmas Parade has been set for Thursday, December 4 at 6:30pm.  In case of inclement weather, a rain date is set for Monday, December 8 at 6:30pm.  Online registration will be available at a later date.  For more information, contact the Recreation and Parks Department at 479-968-1272.

The Russellville Board of Education will conduct a regular board meeting on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. The board meeting will be located in the boardroom on the Russellville High School campus.

Arkansas Tech University Department of Music and Mount Nebo State Park present "Brass in the Clouds" Sept. 20th at Sunset Point.  Start time for the event will be 6:30 p/m.  2025 marks the 20th annual performance of "Brass in the Clouds".  Everyone is welcome.
