Well, it's that time of year once again when we make our trek up the mountain to the first switchback on Hwy 21 north of Clarksville for the continued cleanup of beautiful Teagle Creek.  The date of the cleanup this year is Saturday, March 14, 2026.  Please mark your calendars and make plans to be there.  Our goal is to get all of the tires out of that deep canyon this year.  Our area of trash cleanup has diminished to a small area on the west side of the creek.   Over the past six cleanup efforts we have removed 180 automobile tires, TV sets, cook stoves, ice chests, buckets, bottles, bed springs, kids toys, tubs, pans, plastic, metal, glass, paper and tons of other trash.   We have been using rope and pulleys to drag tires from 400 feet below the road up to the shoulder to be loaded onto a trailer.  If you, or someone you know, has some heavy equipment that could easily pull the tires out of the canyon, it would be greatly appreciated.   Once again the Yell County Wildlife Federation will be providing all of the volunteers with a hot meal, cooked onsite, at high noon.  Work gloves, safety vests and T-shirts will be provided by Keep Arkansas Beautiful.  Wear ankle-supporting footwear to help negotiate the steep terrain.
