The 2nd Annual "Back the Blue" fall fish fry supporting the Arkansas State Police Foundation is set for Saturday, October 2nd from 11 a/m till 2 p/m at Cogswell Motors in Russellville.  A 20-dollar plate will include catfish, chicken, shrimp and all the fixings... Fries, slaw, green tomatoes and onion served by Adams Catfish.  Enjoy the great food, visit with local officers and take a look at their patrol cars on display.  A K-9 officer demonstration is also planned during the event.  Make your plans to attend, and message a friend to meet you there...

The Arkansas River Valley Arts Center has postponed their planned "Chili Bowl and Silent Auction" event until October 23rd.  Tickets remain on sale for the event to include a chili dinner donated by Brangus; with a large variety of toppings, adult beverage dessert and a hand-crafted pottery bowl; made by the students of pottery teacher Soyoon Ahn.  A silent auction is also planned that evening.  Get further details at the River Valley Arts Center Facebook page.

Plans are underway for the 2nd Annual River Valley Holiday Shopapalooza to benefit the River Valley Toys for Tots effort.  A variety of area vendors will be on hand to show your their products and to raise funds, allowing Toys for Tots to provide something special for families in need this upcoming holiday season.  This year's Shopapalooza is set for Saturday, October 2nd at the McGee Community Center in Dardanelle.  Hours will be from 9-to-6 p/m.  Get further details on the River Valley Toys for Tots Facebook page.

David Beal was a Russellville Cyclone, an educator, a district coach, an individual who served as a great example of service to his community, and one who passed from the scene way too soon.  As a memoriam, family and friends have created the "Bricks for Beal" fund raiser, paving the way for youth to remember and walk in his example.  Help pave "Beal Street" on the Russellville Campus, get further details at the Russellville Football Booster Facebook page or check our Facebook pages...

The L.V.
