One of the biggest holiday events in the state, the Russellville Christmas parade is set for this Thursday night, downtown. From 6:30 to 8 p/m, a variety of entries and floats will be featured, along with lights and decorations for the yuletide season. For those sensitive to lights and noise, there will be a Quiet Zone, along South Arkansas from West 10th Street to CJ's Consignment. No music, sirens, or strobing lights will be used in this area. Monday is the deadline to sign-up to participate in the 2nd annual Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Lighting Contest. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be awarded. The holiday season officially kicks off this Tuesday in Dardanelle with the "Lighting of the Tree at the Gazebo", set for 6:30 p/m on Front Street. Santa will also be on hand for picture following the parade, and hot chocolate and cookies will also be on the menu. Then, Friday; its the annual Dardanelle Christmas parade, set for 6:30 p/m.

Dardanelle Chamber of Commerce's "Can We Make A Difference?" canned food drive is set for Friday night, December 6th as a part of the Dardanelle Christmas Parade. The food drive float will lead the parade, beginning at 6:30; and make its way through the city. All canned food donations are appreciated.
The City of Pottsville have their "Christmas Extravaganza" planned for Saturday, December 7th. This year festival will be held at Potts Inn from 4-to-8 p/m.
