One of the biggest holiday events in the state, the Russellville Christmas parade is set for this Thursday night, downtown.  From 6:30 to 8 p/m, a variety of entries and floats will be featured, along with lights and decorations for the yuletide season.  Get further details on the Russellville Tourism and Visitor center Facebook page.

Saturday is the big day for holiday celebrations in Dover, as the Dover Area Chamber of Commerce has their annual Hometown Christmas and Parade event.  Parade begins at 5 p/m with a full evening of food, entertainment and shopping to follow at Dover City Park.  A fireworks display tops off the event at 8 p/m.  Get further details at the Dover Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.

Dardanelle Chamber of Commerce's "Can We Make A Difference?" canned food drive is set for Friday night, December 6th as a part of the Dardanelle Christmas Parade.  The food drive float will lead the parade, beginning at 6:30; and make its way through the city.  All canned food donations are appreciated.

The City of Pottsville have their "Christmas Extravaganza" planned for Saturday, December 7th.  This year festival will be held at Potts Inn from 4-to-8 p/m.  The annual Christmas parade will get underway at 6 p/m with the tree lighting to follow the parade at Potts Inn.  Get further details at the City of Pottsville Facebook page.

Santa has dropped off his mailbox and will be ready to receive letters beginning December 1st at the Russellville Train Depot (320 W C Street). Plainview school cafeteria will be the host location this Saturday for their 3rd annual "Breakfast with Santa" event.  The Grinch will also be making a visit to this effort, to be held from 7 a/m to 10.  Pancakes, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy.  5-dollars, all you can eat.  Proceeds from the effort fund improvements at Plainview City Park.

Ola Christmas parade and tree lighting is planned for this Saturday, December 7th at 6 p/m.  Coordinators remind that the tree lighting and visits with Santa will occur immediately after the parade.  Check the City of Ola Arkansas Facebook page for further details.

Plainview VFW Post 8525 will have a "Santa's Workshop" event this Saturday, starting at 9 a/m and all youth are invited.  The VFW is located in downtown.

Western Yell County's Chamber of Commerce "Jingle in the Park" event is planned for Saturday, December 7th at Havana City Park.  Hours for the event will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p/m.   Caroling, refreshments, a Veterans tree lighting ceremony, pictures with Santa and more activities are planned.
