Augsburg Zion Lutheran Church will hold a free will offering spaghetti benefit dinner on Saturday, March 8th for Yecica Valdez. A single mom, Valdez had been diagnosed with two types of breast cancer. Pope County Extension office is kicking off a "Beginning Home Gardening:The basics" course on February 28th from 4-to-6 p/m at the Farm Bureau office in Russellville. Now, pre-registration for the class is required, as there are only 25 spots available. County ag-agent Brandon Yarbery and the Pope County Master Gardeners will instruct the class. Hector Schools urge all middle school parents to attend an "Internet Safety Night" planned for Thursday, March 13th at 6 p/m in the high school cafeteria. Its an opportunity to hear more about current concerns and ways to help children be safe online. Free refreshments will also be served.
