One of 2025's Russellville "Juneteenth" observances is set for this Friday, June 13th. As a part of the celebration, four individuals will also be inducted into the local "Black Hall of Fame".  Included will be Ellen Collins, the late Helen Thompson, Eddie Colen Jr. and Randy Hendrix.  Juneteenth is a federal holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans in 1865.

Morrilton High School alumni who have been out of school for at least fifty years will come together this coming weekend for a day of fellowship and fun. The annual M-H-S Golden Reunion is set for Saturday, June 14th, at Morrilton High School's Devil Dog Arena.
